Things I love about you...

Things I love about you....Mom

  • the way you take care of Dad
  • the advice you give in your subtle way
  • seeing/hearing you laugh
  • the fact that I hope I look as good as you look when I turn your age
  • the great Grandma you are to all of your grandkids
  • the fact that you are internet savvy
  • you are always so giving to others and don't expect anything in return
  • your patience with your kids (especially spoiled little me)
  • the many personality traits that I inherited from you
  • the way you took such good care of Grandma in her last years, I know she appreciated it and Sissy, Bubba, and I appreciated it even more.

May we never forget...

Today brings about so many many memories of what I was doing on September 11th, 9 years ago. I was in college in my first class of the day and heard from a classmate (who was late) that a plane had struck one of the towers. Then when we moved to our next class, we heard that another plane had struck. After that class, SWT had set up televisions everywhere for students to keep track of what was going on. It was oddly silent in the student center when normally it was loud. It was eerie.

One year later, I was in one of the spots where it all happened...Washington DC, for a conference for work.

We remember those who lost parents, children, daughters, sons, sisters, and brothers. Thank you to all of those who saved so many lives and thanks to those who lost their lives while saving others.

Projects

I've been moving right along on all of my knitting projects. I finished my knit-along/read-along for August. The book was awesome and so was the sock pattern. I started on some socks for Dan and have already finished the first sock and am currently working on the second. It's a nice mindless pattern that I can do easily while watching tv. I also started and finished a winter hat for Brynn in less than one week, so I'm moving right along!

McKenzie's blanket is coming along as well, I think I'm about half done with it. Once I'm done with her blanket, I hope to start on some short sleeve cardigans for the girls. I probably won't get done with them till they don't fit them anymore! I will probably start on Brynn's first as the highest size that the pattern goes is a size 5.
