Halloween

We had a great time picking out costumes this Halloween since we had a little baby again. :) Brynn was a cowgirl and McKenzie was a cow....they were too cute. Dan and I decided to be Bill and Sookie from the show "True Blood". We had a lot of activities planned this Halloween. It started out the week before Halloween, when Dan and I went to Jey and Pat's Halloween party and that was a blast! Grandma was in town, so she watched the girls for us that night. Then weekend of Halloween Brynn had her Halloween party and parade at school that Dan and I were able to attend. She had a lot of fun and so did we. McKenzie got to go to the pumpkin patch with her day care as well. Saturday we did Trunk or Treat at TKD and that was a blast! For Halloween we just went to a couple of houses of people that we knew and we really enjoyed that!

Pumpkin Festival

A couple of weeks ago we went to a Pumpkin Festival and had such a great time. It was fun walking through the fields and finding the perfect pumpkins.

blogging from the phone

Laying here awake because Kenzie is having issues sleeping and Brynn is loudly sniffling in her room. Figured i'd download a blogger app to see how it would work.

It's cool to blog from your phone, but much easier to do it from a regular keyboard.

Hopefully i'll fall asleep soon, but I'm sure I'll hear crying as soon as I do.

Grandma is in town

Brynn had a wonderful surprise yesterday when I picked her up from school and Grandma was standing right beside me. :) Kenzie wasn't so excited when we picked her up from day care, as she is going through her "I don't know who you are" phase and she also didn't have a good day yesterday. She was kinda fussy and had a low grade temp all day. We are thinking she is teething and I hope that's all it is.

Grandma is in town to watch McKenzie while her day care provider is out of town. I'm kinda glad that Kenzie is at home with her, especially since she isn't feeling well, as we all know that it's nice to be at home when you don't feel good.

I think Brynn was kind of sad this morning that she couldn't stay at home with Grandma and Kenzie, but she'll have plenty of time in the evenings and during the weekend. We don't have much planned while she is here, except that Dan and I are going to a Halloween party on Saturday night. We are also getting Kenzie's first haircut this Saturday, as well as Brynn's hair trimmed. Might also try and make a trip to the zoo on Sunday if the weather is nice.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Taos Weekend...a bit behind

Okay, so I'm a bit behind on posting this, but our weekend in Taos was amazing! I'm inspired to write this as I'm reading all about Rhinebeck (another amazing wool festival) on my other favorite blogger's sites. Going to Taos was exciting on many levels....1) it was our first mini-vacation 2)we were staying in an amazing house 3)I was spending time with my family 4) it was my birthday weekend 5) there would be yarn....and lots of it 6) great food 7) ample knitting time 8) the drive wasn't too long 8) the scenery was gorgeous 9) I got Rudy's BBQ in CO Springs 10) relaxation

The girls had a blast hanging out in the colorful house, and we were able to walk to pretty much everything we needed to, which was nice as parking is tough in Taos. I will definitely try and go to Taos every year for the wool festival, being that it's only 5 hours away. :)

Things I love about you...

Dad...

  • the way your face turns red and your laugh goes silent (when you laugh REALLY hard) :)
  • working extra and paying my way through college and believing in me the whole time
  • pushing me to always do my best
  • the fact that I have so many personality traits from you (getting what I want when I want it...usually)
  • taking care of my/our mom and our family
  • being such a caring son and brother to Grandma Nunn and your siblings
  • the fact that I can tell everyone that my dad is/was a drag racer
  • seeing you around your grandbabies/grandkids
  • your strength in times when it's needed most
  • your smile on Skype
